You know it's time to do dishes when you find yourself stirring coffee with a baby spoon. Just a thought.

Just when I thought I had pretty much gotten this pregnancy thing down, I hit the third trimester. If I miss my morning nap, I do things like stand in the shower and sob for ten minutes while Mike is hugging me (and getting his shirt very wet) because I MISS him. I can no long go between meals without eating another meal. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, supper, dinner, before bedtime snack. Yum! I can drink more liquid than a camel, but I can't go more than 30 minutes without peeing. Sometimes less. And I keep having dreams that the baby is born in the same manner as in the movie Alien.
Little Mister Orange is getting big fast. He's really long and already almost two and a half pounds. I had another ultrasound the other day, but he had rolled over so that they could only take pictures of the back of his head. He's proving to be more and more like his daddy already ;) I'm getting really anxious to meet him. I can't wait to see his little face and eat his tiny fists.
Mike and I are doing our very best to enjoy our time before he arrives. We've been trying new restaurants, going to local attractions and playing catch up on all of the movies and tv shows we missed while in Okinawa. My favorite restaurant so far was this little Irish pub we had dinner at one night. It was a really cozy and friendly atmosphere (also smoke free!) and the food was amazing. I think this weekend I'm in the mood for a little Mexican. Mmm, enchiladas.

It's scary when you come face to face with yourself. It's even scarier when the self you're facing is the you from fifteen years ago.
There I was, walking through the commissary, when I came face to face with my six year old self. A small, twiggy girl, with light, tangled curls and brown eyes just meandering through the store humming an unknown tune, lost in her own world while her mother stood just a few feet away calling her. "Katy? KATY? KATHRYN! Look at me! KATY!" She had my full attention that's for sure. Little me however was wandering down the frozen foods isle, still humming, touching each and every freezer drawer and counting them as she went.
It was like looking through a window to the past. How many times had my mama been calling for me when I didn't even know it? How many times had I made everyone late because I was daydreaming? Countless.
But even as I stood there in awe and amazement, the only things running through my head? An unknown tune and the question: exactly how many freezer doors are there?
Somethings will never change =)

I haven't written anything about the kits in a while, so I figured it was time to give the people what they really come here for ;)
Caspian has been his usual self lately. He's been getting into trouble. Digging through the garbage when it's chicken night, starting wrestling matches with Pip in the middle of the bed at three in the morning, and thoroughly inspecting every foot that comes into this house (His foot/shoe fetish has only gotten worse as he's gotten old. So weird.) Pip is doing her best to teach him everything she knows, and he's slowly catching on. Last week, he managed to open up the TV cabinet and unhook the DVD player, climb into the fridge and push out a plate of chicken and attempted to run away with a bottle of Tylenol. He also ate half a dozen feathers, but we don't judge him for that.
Piper has decided to cling to the little bit of kittenhood she has remaining. She's been climbing things, pawing through draws, scratching up the poor green chair in the livingroom, carrying the squid from room to room, sleeping between us, breaking glasses and so much more. The other day, I was winding with my ball winder and swift when she jumped on the table, grabbed the yarn and made a mad dash through the house. She run under things, around things and behind the couch before I got a hold of the yarn. When I did get it, she played tug of war with me. It would have been cute had it not been merino wool. We do have to set boundaries after all!
Oh! Oh! Totally off subject. I have the most awesome big sister on earth. She sent me a late Christmas gift, a gift certificate to the Loopy Ewe! I nearly fainted. I couldn't believe it. I then proceeded to spend hours making up my mind. When I did, I had purchased a skein of Regia Stretch, a skein of Cherry Tree Hill Supersock and two skeins of Interlacements Tiny Toes. They came on Monday!!! I couldn't wait to started knitting, so I was winding the Tiny Toes when Pip decided to play on the wild side. I've already knitted half of the Baby Raglan Sweater too. It's sooooo cute. Definitely one to put into my private stock pile (And if you're thinking what I think you're thinking no, I'm sorry. No little Orangelets yet. It's gonna be a few years still. RWO will have the inside scoop though. Trust me, when I know, you'll know, ya know? ;) (I just love knitting baby stuff. It's so small and delicate =)
Anyway, so that is all that is going on here. This is a totally random post for postings sake. Because I'm in the mood to post. And since I have to idea when this post is going to end, I'll leave you with pictures of fire works over Mihama.

Nobody told me that watching the movie "Moulin Rouge" would result in endless hours of weeping till my nose blew bubbles and clinging to poor Mike. They really should have warnings before these kinds of movies. Something like, "May cause estrogen to spike."

What was wrong with cell phones that simply made phone calls? I went away for two years and all of a sudden you can surf the web, listen to music and do your taxes while e-mailing your sister in Europe. Yet, I can't figure out how to make a phone call.
I feel out dated. Oui.
