Lots of random stuff because I can't compose my thoughts never mind a post.

Just when I thought I had pretty much gotten this pregnancy thing down, I hit the third trimester. If I miss my morning nap, I do things like stand in the shower and sob for ten minutes while Mike is hugging me (and getting his shirt very wet) because I MISS him. I can no long go between meals without eating another meal. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, supper, dinner, before bedtime snack. Yum! I can drink more liquid than a camel, but I can't go more than 30 minutes without peeing. Sometimes less. And I keep having dreams that the baby is born in the same manner as in the movie Alien.

Little Mister Orange is getting big fast. He's really long and already almost two and a half pounds. I had another ultrasound the other day, but he had rolled over so that they could only take pictures of the back of his head. He's proving to be more and more like his daddy already ;) I'm getting really anxious to meet him. I can't wait to see his little face and eat his tiny fists.

Mike and I are doing our very best to enjoy our time before he arrives. We've been trying new restaurants, going to local attractions and playing catch up on all of the movies and tv shows we missed while in Okinawa. My favorite restaurant so far was this little Irish pub we had dinner at one night. It was a really cozy and friendly atmosphere (also smoke free!) and the food was amazing. I think this weekend I'm in the mood for a little Mexican. Mmm, enchiladas.

Updates for all

I haven't posted in a long time. Like a really, really, really long time. I could lie and say that I've been extraordinarily busy, but that would just be rude. Truth is, I've been moping around my parent's house eating all of their bananas.

Mike is in Louisiana where he is moving into our new apartment today. I'm really excited and also a little scared. We've never rented an apartment before (no base housing at Barksdale), so this will be quite the adventure. The place we chose is beautiful, close to base and a very safe environment, but I'm still a little anxious. It's just so easy to get to used to the security of living on base (the convenience and lack of housing costs were nice too.) I'm flying down with Ms. Chloe in two weeks to be with him. I can't wait. I love being with my family, but I miss him so badly already.

In Baby Orange news: My tummy is huge. Very soon I will no longer have a belly button, and I'm rapidly losing the ability to reach my feet. We are 22 weeks now and baby is bumping around and kicking so much. I love the little kicks! Also, when he (or she) first wakes up in the morning, I can feel small fingers gently brushing the wall of my tummy. It tickles =) Baby O. lets me know when I'm hungry too by swiftly kicking me in the ribcage. He dances when music is played at my belly, bounces when I'm tickled and falls asleep when I sway from side to side. I am so excited to meet this amazing little person God has made =)

Ms. Chloe has settled into my parent's house nicely. She's adopted my brother as her own and spends her days napping, making demands of people and poking the old kitties in a very curious game of chicken. Right now, she's resting at the vet's office. She was declawed two days ago, but her paws weren't clotting properly, so she's staying there for a few days until they've healed enough that she won't reopen the wounds. We really didn't want to declaw her, but she left us with no choice. Nothing worked for discipline, and we tried EVERYTHING, so we moved to our last resort as much as it breaks my heart. She'll recover, but she will probably be bitter forever ;)

Now I'm off to do very important things. Like eat another banana =)

To lazy to blog

Ah, poor neglected little blog.

Things are starting to brighten here at Chez Watrous. Mike and I will be getting our plane tickets to move home soon (we start packing up next month I think! yay!) Ms. Chloe has been showing us a very different side of her. A very snuggly and loving side! (By snuggly and loving I mean she stands on my chest and squees at me loudly till I give her skritches and then she runs away ;) And at nine weeks my belly is starting to poke out.

Yep, I have what appears to be one very fine beer gut. I've actually had to buy stretchy waisted jeans. It's a little stunning. I was planning on wearing my regular jeans for as long as possible, but by week seven I started having to use two hair ties to hold the button and decided to cave and buy the stretchy jeans. I think all jeans should be this comfortable. They're actually really cute too. As long as my shirt covers the waist band, you'd never know they were maternity.

My first OB appointment is in a week and a half. I'm so excited! I have this huge list of questions.

Hurt backs and cheez burgers.

Somehow last week, I hurt my back. I'm not really sure how I did it (Could it be the seven games of Wii boxing I did? Is it because started I babysitting a three month old child two weeks ago? Could it be all of the seriously heavy lifting I do at the Loan Closet? Or any number of other stupid things I've done because I am twenty-one! I am invincible! Hurrrr! ?) I just woke up one morning, and it was killing me.

Finally, Mike talked me into going to see the doc. Doc informed me that, yes I had hurt my back and that no, I am not invincible. Now please go home, take this Motrin and for Pete's sake listen to your husband, lie still and stop carrying around heavy objects!

Honee? U iz smart. I luvz u ;)

In other completely unrelated news, I've been having too much fun with The Cheez Burger Factory lately.

Hi

Hi! Remember me? I used to blog here a looooong time ago.

I'm not sure what's happened; I've just lost all drive to blog. I'm not sure if it has to do with me not really having anything to blog about, or if I'm just being hermit-y and need to push myself out of it.

So the last two weeks...hmm. Where to begin.

Chloe has been slowly driving us insane. When we first got her, she was just starting her first heat, and it hasn't ended since. Howling from sun up to sun down with only a few hours in between in which she naps. Every once in a while, she has a good day, and she actually wants to interact with us on a level that does not involve pleading with us to find her a man. I think she's finally come to realize that even if Caspian knew what to do with her, he wouldn't be able to, and she's come to accept him as merely a playmate. Tomorrow is a happy day. Tomorrow, little miss loses all interest in boy kitties forever. The vet managed to bump her operation up two weeks, so she will be getting spayed in the morning. Hallelujah!

Caspian has doubled in size this month. He's HUGE. At his last vet appointment, I begged her to give him a deworming treatment because of his sick fondness for eating raw chicken from the trashcan, and she graciously obliged thus causing Cas to gain three or four pounds and grow huge. He looks even bigger when he's sitting next to little miss no-bigger-than-Mike's-shoe. It's really funny to walk into the office and find him sitting on Mike's lap because he's so big he hangs off on both sides.

Today, I get to hit my husband. Yes. I get to punch him in the arm. Legally. Today is Mike's promotion ceremony! It is AF tradition for the person being promoted to be punched in each arm by his/her spouse and a friend, or by two friends. One on each side, they punch simultaneously. I'm not sure why, but it's tradition, so I'll be going along with it. I did protest because I didn't want to punch him, but he looked sad and asked sweetly, and...well...I agreed to hit him.

I've had Colin a lot lately, and I'm realizing more and more that it's going to be very hard to say goodbye to this little boy.

So that's a quick catch up. Nothing else is new. It is HOT here, and we are roasting. Send ice cream.

So picture heavy, you may need some help lifting it.

Sorry for the lack of posts as of late. The world has been turned on it's ear this last week, and we've been quite the busy little bees. Meaning: We left for our anniversary trip and came back just in time to be smacked upside the head with a very large typhoon (floods, flying trees, Mike at work since Thursday night, the works). And then along came something fuzzy... More soon. I promise! But first the anniversary trip.

For our second anniversary (First time spending it together. Yay!!), we decided to splurge a little and go stay in one of these wonderful little cottages on a base in Northern Okinawa. So last Monday, we took off for this adorable little place.

It was incredible, and I attempted to convince Mike that we should move in. He was completely unreasonable and kept going on and on about real life or something. Meh. (i love you!)

While we there, we took advantage of being so close to the most Northern tip of the island (usually close to a three hour drive for us) and did a little adventuring. Hedo Point was absolutely breath taking and completely worth the trip. We stood on the bluffs that over look the ocean for quite awhile. Beautiful.

While we were there, I also made Mike go swimming in the ocean for the first time. He protested greatly because he doesn't float very well so swimming has never been much fun for him, but being the little know-it-all that I am, I patronizingly told him, "Come on! EVERYONE floats in the ocean babe!" And then he got in and swallowed a bunch of sea water because he does not float, and I felt very, very awful. And then he dunked me.

The typhoon was really nasty, but because we're prepared (like the boyscouts!) we all weathered it fine. There were many trees down, a bunch of recycling bins strewn about and an empty fish tank that took a nose dive down a hill, but really everything else was fine. Well, except for the flooding. But that's all behind us now! 1.5 million in damages isn't THAT bad.

More on the fuzzy part soon...I promise!

In which I totally talk about the weather for lack of better content

I'm sorry for how focused on the negative my blog has been lately. It was like life decided to smack me upside the head this month though. I think things are getting back on track though.

It has been so ridiculously hot here. Walking around outside here feels like wearing still wet, woolen clothes warmed from the dryer. In a steam room. Holding a humidifier.

Our second anniversary is in a little under two weeks, and I can scare believe it. Two years. Wow. Married life hasn't been all peaches and cream as some would leave you to believe, but I wouldn't trade a minute of it. I love being married to Mike. He makes me...complete =)

Last Sunday, Mike and I were huggers at the Okinawa Special Olympics. We both got sunburned and drenched. So in other words, it was a huge success =D

Adventures in substitute parenting.

Lastnight, Mike and I had a guest sleeping on our bedroom floor. Colin, the little boy I babysit for, spent the night so his parents could spend a whole night together that didn't involve Elmo, chocolate milk, or wet diapers.

He arrived sound asleep at 8:30 last night and didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning. I, on the other hand, didn't sleep all night. I spent the whole night paranoid that something was going to happen to him while he slept. I even got out of bed once and put my hand on his chest to make sure he was fine. It's a good thing I have Mike, otherwise our children would grow up dressed in foam padding ;)

Thursday

I've never been a big fan of Thursday. It's not quite Friday, so there's not much to look forward to in the evening, and it spoils all the fun of Wednesday being halfway to the weekend. Thursday seem to be my gloomy day (everyone has one). I think I'm going to change it up next week though. Make Tuesday my gloomy day perhaps because next Thursday will be my 21st birthday.

I keep marveling over this number. Twenty-one. Wow. An adult in every sense of the word, yet I don't feel like an adult. I own two cars, pay my bills, have a wonderful husband, cook, clean and work, but yet I still feel like a teen. When do you finally start feeling like a grown up?
