Hey, I stil do that time to time with my kids. The other night my oldest (almost 14...Lord help me) fell asleep way early and I kept going in and checking on him to make sure he was ok. I even made hubby get out of bed in the middle of the night to check because I thought something was wrong with him. It never ends :)

Yep. I'm the same way. When the kids were babies, I was always putting a hand on their back to be sure they were still breathing. Now, I'll stand there and watch if they've overslept more than 2 hours or so...just to be sure. A Mom's gotta worry, ya know!

Christine (aka Big SIS)

i guess after having so many, you become less paranoid... But I was definitely that way with the first 2 (out of 5)

You are going to be a great mom. You will have your baby in bed with you so you will not have to worry about them breathing. I am glad you had a great time babysitting.

The M's

Don't feel bad, with my first baby, I moved into her room. Complete with a twin bed, and stayed there until she was about 10 months old. The first night she slept the whole night, I woke up that morning and worried that I had slept through her cries. Still watch for their breathing.

All 3 of my kiddos have slept with us. The baby (now 4.5) is still sleeping with us now. I love having them right next to me so I can hear them breathing. It helps me sleep. And I still check in on the 2 older babies (11.75 and 16) several times a night, holding my finger under their noses to feel them breathing if needed. :-) You're going to make a great mommy when you're ready.
